Gender and Policy

Gender Equity: ECCO-FARM will improve women and girls’ agency to exercise decision making and leadership in environmental governance, CSA adoption and CCA (INO 1300). Key CCA, CSA, AgNBS and gender policies and regulations will be reviewed vis a vis international best practices and Mongolia's international commitments such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW 1981). We will work with the NCGE and its country-wide programs and focal points to strengthen accountability, transparency and GE in environmental governance processes. ECCO-FARM will be gender transformative by enhancing women’s and vulnerable people’s participation in decision-making and CCA, their capacity for leadership and their understanding of climate change issues and risks. Working with women and WROs, we will identify and develop practical, locally appropriate strategies to remove barriers to extension, technology and ownership of assets including promotion of women into leadership positions, mentorship, targeted assistance and training.
