About the Project:
The ECCO-FARM project aims to improve the livelihoods of rural Mongolians and build resilience through the adoption of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), Agriculture Nature-based Solutions (AgNBS), and biodiversity protection. The project focuses on sustainable production, agricultural growth, food security, and climate change adaptation (CCA).
Role Overview:
Based in the Ulaanbaatar project office, the Training, Communications Coordinator and Translator will work with the project team and coordinate project activities in close coordination with local and international experts.
Key Responsibilities:
– Act as an activity coordinator for the project components; arrange all required pre- and post activity meetings, official letters and documents, take notes and meeting minutes.
– Conduct recruitment of training participants and maintain registration; collect participant feedback and consultant exit feedback and follow-ups.
– Develop newsletters, brochures, press releases, public awareness materials, including activity posters, flyers, banners and digital contents for social media in dual language where needed.
– Maintain project website, social pages and other communications channels.
– Conduct verbal translations during meetings and events;
– Provide written translation of the project documents, letters, training materials and other documents as required; keep project documentation and records organized.
– The Training and Communications Coordinator and Translator will work under direct supervision of project Operations Manager and will collaborate with the Alinea communications team in Canada.
Qualifications:
– Bachelors’ and above level in related field;
– 5+ years of experience in community development projects;
– Excellent drafting, writing, editing skills in English and Mongolian languages; excellent translation (both written and oral) skills from Mongolian to English and vice versa.
– Content development skills are desirable;
– On-time, well-organized, flexible, and able to work under minimal supervision in a multi-task and international environment;
– Strong communications, presentational and interpersonal skills;
– Takes initiative, and is able to inspire, motivate and manage a team;
– Demonstrates fortitude amidst challenges and perseveres despite the challenges;
